WIP -Horses in action

There is something exhilarating to see horses in action, whether they are running free or working hard as this stock horse is doing. This painting is a work-in-progress and I am feeling my way at this stage with the background to use colours that will complement the horse and the action. This is my underpainting which is quite detailed and when this is dry I will completely paint the whole piece again to deepen the colour, refine the edges and improve the values. I also have a couple of anatomy issues to work on. I was so impressed with this horses honest eye and everything in his face shows that he loves his job. I hope you like it!
