Art workshops

January has shaped up to be the month of teaching art on the local front. A new experience for me was to teach a group of children aged 5-12 years the delights of drawing animals. The workshop was one of many that make up the Summer School Art Programme, a wonderful initiative run here by the Benalla Art Gallery. Twelve children attended and enjoyed the session as we explored drawing wild and domestic animals in pencil. I was thrilled at how focused and attentive they were and how much they enjoyed being so expressive with their artwork.

North East Artisans, an artist co-op that I am a part of, also ran a threefold workshop on drawing that was well supported by enthusiastic participants. Three tutors for three weeks each teaching different subject matter, me of course, taking wildlife.
